Osoyoos is located in an unusual region of Canada. The community of Osoyoos falls in the shadow of the Cascade Mountains creating a hot, sunny, dry climate. This arid zone is the northern tip of the Sonoran Desert which extends from Mexico into Canada. Osoyoos is classified as Canada's only desert because of the unique variety of plant and animal life.
